Passware Kit Standard is a password recovery software solution that can decrypt passwords not only for the files stored on your computer, but also for Internet and network connections, email accounts and websites.
The whole application relies on a Windows XP-like interface, so it should be pretty easy for all users out there to deal with it. The main window hosts four options: “Recover File Password”, “Recover Internet and Network Passwords”, “Reset Windows Administrator Password” and “Search for Protected Files”.
While the file recovery tool supports an impressive lineup of formats, including RAR, ZIP, Excel, Word, Paradox, Access, WordPro and many others, the “Internet and Network” utility helps you recover Microsoft Outlook passwords, Outlook Express accounts and identities, websites, network connections and Remote Desktop passwords.
If you wish to find the files that may be protected by a password and stored on your local disk, the dedicated “Search for Protected Files” tools does that in about fifteen minutes.
Every single password recovery process offers three options: the user needs to select whether to run a wizard and thus follow just a few steps to find out the password, use the predefined settings or customize them and configure the process manually.
If you go for the wizard, you are asked to provide some information about the password, such as the numbers or letters that it may include. You are required to pick the dictionary, the password length, uppercase and lowercase letters and many other settings that may help the app in decrypting the password.
The speed of the process and the results depend on the complexity of the password, so make sure you have the time before loading the app.
All in all, Passware Kit Standard is quite a handy tool if you wish to recover passwords to some very important documents.
